Kraków is one of Europe's most beautifully preserved medieval cities, famous for its grand architecture, deep royal history, and vibrant cultural atmosphere. Escaping major destruction during World War II, its historic center showcases authentic centuries-old landmarks along the historic Royal Route.

Main Market Square (Rynek Główny) - Staked out in 1257, this is Europe's largest medieval town square. Spanning 40,000 square meters, it serves as the lively, beating heart of the city, lined with outdoor cafes, historical townhouses, and horse-drawn carriages.

Cloth Hall (Sukiennice) - Standing majestically in the very center of the main square, this Renaissance-style market hall has roots dating back to the 13th century. Today, the ground floor features a bustling arcade filled with amber jewelry and traditional Polish handicrafts, while the upper floor hosts a grand National Museum Gallery of 19th-century Polish art.

Wawel Royal Castle - Perched dramatically on a limestone hill overlooking the Vistula River, this fortified complex was the political and cultural center of Poland from the 11th to the 17th centuries. It features a spectacular Italian Renaissance courtyard and houses priceless collections of royal tapestries, crown treasures, and Ottoman tents.

St. Mary’s Basilica - Dominating the corner of the main square, this striking 14th-century Brick Gothic church is famous for its two asymmetrical towers. Inside, visitors find a breathtaking starry-blue vaulted ceiling and the world’s largest Gothic wooden altarpiece carved by Veit Stoss. Every hour, a live trumpeter plays the traditional Hejnał mariacki melody from the tallest window, which breaks off abruptly to honor a medieval watchman shot in the throat by an archer.

The Barbican - Built in 1498, this formidable circular defensive outpost is one of the very few surviving examples of its kind in Europe. Constructed with three-meter-thick brick walls and seven watchtowers, it once guarded St. Florian's Gate and the northern entrance to the city, successfully repelling multiple historic sieges
