Kiyomizu Temple

Photo
Kiyomizu-dera Temple, one of Kyoto’s most iconic landmarks, is a historic Buddhist temple founded in 778. Perched on the hillside of the Higashiyama mountains, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of Kyoto city. The temple is renowned for its wooden stage, which juts out over the hillside, supported by hundreds of tall pillars, and provides spectacular views of cherry blossoms in spring and colorful foliage in autumn. Visitors can also explore the main hall, Jishu Shrine, Otowa Waterfall, and various smaller shrines and pagodas, all part of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
